Version 2.2 — Effective October 28, 2026 for new accounts. For accounts opened before that date, effective on the date you accept it.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding contract between you and Authorythm, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with its registered address at 1111b South Governors Avenue, Suite 1, Dover, DE 19904, USA ("Authorythm", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Authorythm platform, website, APIs and related services (the "Service").
You accept these Terms by creating an account, or by ticking the acceptance box when we ask you to. If you do not agree, do not use the Service, except as section 1.4 allows when you decline a new version.
The Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Copyright Policy are part of these Terms. If your account is a Founding Author account, the Founding Author Terms apply to you instead of these Terms, and the Founding Author Beta Agreement you signed continues to apply to the Founding Author Programme.
We may change these Terms. When we do, we post the new version with its version number and date, and we may ask you to accept it before you continue. Changes to prices, plans, included allowances, expiry rules or quotas apply from your next renewal. Balances you have already paid for keep their stated expiry.
If you do not accept a new version, contact support@authorythm.ai. You may keep using any balance you have already paid for under the version you last accepted until that balance is used up or expires, but you cannot buy or renew anything until you accept: a plan you hold ends at the close of its paid period instead of renewing. Until you accept, starting the planning steps of a book needs at least 15,000 words (half a token) in your balance; writing a manuscript you have already planned can use your balance down to zero. You can export your manuscripts at any time.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You confirm this when you sign up. The Service generates fiction that may include mature themes and is not intended for minors.
If you use the Service for a business or another person, you confirm you have authority to bind them, and "you" includes them.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or sanctions.
Give us accurate information and keep it current. One person per personal account. You are responsible for everything done under your account and for keeping your password and sign-in methods secure. Tell us at once at support@authorythm.ai if you suspect unauthorized use.
We may suspend or close accounts that provide false information, share sign-in credentials, or breach these Terms.
The Service helps you take a story idea through a structured, AI-assisted process: story foundation and world, cast, plot, chapter outlines, manuscript generation, and export of the manuscript (currently DOCX and PDF). You direct each stage, review the results, and can edit what is produced.
The Service uses large language models operated by third-party providers (listed in the Privacy Policy). Generated text can be inaccurate, repetitive, inconsistent, or unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing and editing everything before you publish or rely on it.
The Service is in public beta. Features, limits, models and workflows may change, and we may add, alter or retire features. Where a change reduces what your plan includes, section 1.4 applies.
We may set technical limits (for example, concurrent generations, project counts, word budgets per run) and show them in the app.
To run any AI generation you need an active subscription or a positive word balance. There is no free tier and no trial allowance.
Prose is sold in tokens. One token equals 30,000 words of manuscript prose delivered to your project. Your balance is shown in words, with the token and dollar equivalents alongside it. The dollar figure is a convenience mirror at the price you would pay for an extra token; it is not a stored cash balance and cannot be withdrawn.
Plans are monthly or annual. Each plan includes a number of tokens per month. An annual plan is a 12-month commitment billed once a year at the annual price; its tokens are released monthly across the year. Current plans and prices are shown on the pricing page and on your billing page. We will never move you from one plan to another without your agreement; changes to a plan's price or what it includes follow section 1.4.
Subscribers can buy extra tokens at their plan's per-token rate. Extra tokens do not expire while your subscription is active and follow section 5.8 if you cancel.
Each billing period includes a planning allowance equal to 10% of the amount you paid for that period, used for the setup stages (foundation, cast, plot, outlines). On an annual plan, the allowance is released in twelve equal monthly parts. Setup work draws down the allowance at our published per-model rates based on actual usage. You can top the allowance up separately if you run out. We may operate this allowance in a monitoring-only mode before it is enforced; we tell you in the app when it starts to apply.
Fair use of planning. Planning features are there to plan books you write with the Service. Where we do not charge for planning, or charge less than it costs us to provide, it is subject to fair use. If an account's planning activity is excessive compared with normal use, for example repeatedly planning projects without generating their manuscripts, we may limit or pause that account's planning. Free or below-cost planning is for books you write with the Service: using it mainly to produce plans, outlines or other material for another AI writing tool or service (for example by copying, exporting or screenshotting it) is not fair use, and we may limit or pause that account's planning or charge for it at our published rates. We will tell you before we apply a limit to your account, except in cases of abuse, and any limit will be shown in the app.
Tokens released for a billing period expire one month after the end of that period. On a monthly plan, this month's tokens expire at the end of next month. On an annual plan, each monthly release is valid until one month after the annual period ends. Expired words are removed from your balance and are not refunded. We spend your soonest-expiring words first.
You can cancel at any time from your billing page; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. One month after that period ends, all remaining words on the account, including extra tokens, expire. Annual plans cannot be cancelled for a partial refund.
If you bought tokens under an earlier pricing model, we will move your account to the current model and tell you before we do. Existing balances convert one-for-one (one token equals 30,000 words). Converted balances expire three months after your account moves unless you hold an active subscription at that time, in which case section 5.7 applies. If your account is a Founding Author account, the Founding Author Terms govern your earlier purchases instead; under them, those balances do not expire.
Prices are in U.S. dollars unless shown otherwise and exclude taxes, which we collect where required. Payments are processed by Stripe under its terms. You authorize us to charge your payment method for recurring subscription fees until you cancel. If a payment fails, we retry it for up to 14 days and may suspend generation meanwhile; if it still fails, the subscription is cancelled, and you can subscribe again at any time. If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open.
Except where the law requires otherwise, all purchases, including subscription periods, extra tokens and planning top-ups, are final and non-refundable, and consumed words are never refundable. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a legal right to withdraw from a digital services contract within 14 days. By purchasing you expressly request that we begin providing the Service immediately and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once we do. Where a right of withdrawal still applies, any refund is reduced by the value of words consumed. We may, at our discretion, offer a goodwill credit or refund; doing so does not create a right to one.
Discounts, bonus tokens and referral rewards are subject to the terms stated with the offer, may be limited in time or quantity, and may be changed or withdrawn before you accept them.
You are responsible for what you put into the Service ("Your Input") and for how you use what it produces ("Output"). Use the Service lawfully.
You may not use the Service to:
You may not:
Model providers apply their own safety rules. A generation refused for safety reasons is not charged, but repeated attempts to produce prohibited content may lead to suspension.
We may remove or block content that we reasonably believe breaches this section. We may investigate suspected breaches and suspend or terminate access without notice. Balances on an account terminated for breach are forfeited.
The Service, its software, design, prompts, guidance systems, trademarks and documentation belong to Authorythm and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service to create your own written works while you comply with these Terms.
You keep all rights in Your Input: your ideas, characters, plots, worlds and any text you write. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, reproduce and transmit Your Input and Output solely to provide, secure and improve the Service for you. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups kept under the Privacy Policy.
We claim no ownership of Output generated for you and, to the extent we hold any right in it, we assign it to you. Output may resemble output generated for other users from similar inputs; we cannot guarantee uniqueness.
Under current U.S. Copyright Office guidance, text generated by an AI system without sufficient human creative contribution may not be protected by copyright, and prompts alone do not make you the author of the result. Your own editing, selection, arrangement and added writing are what make a manuscript yours. Applications to register a work containing AI material must disclose it. Publishing platforms such as Amazon KDP may require you to disclose AI-generated content when you publish; making that disclosure is your responsibility. See the Copyright Policy for more.
We do not use your manuscripts, inputs or outputs to train AI models, and our contracts with model providers prohibit them from doing so. We may use anonymized, aggregated usage data (for example, word counts and generation success rates) to improve the Service.
If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
The Service depends on third parties: AI model providers, payment processing, hosting, email delivery and error monitoring. They are listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability and rules affect the Service; we are not responsible for their acts or outages beyond what section 10 provides.
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned maintenance is announced in the app. Incidents are posted on our status page.
Support is provided through the in-app support drawer and support@authorythm.ai. We aim to reply within 2 to 5 business days. We do not offer guaranteed response times during the beta.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty about the accuracy, originality, quality or commercial success of Output.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Authorythm and its officers, employees, contractors and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from the Service or these Terms.
Our total liability for all claims arising from the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law permits. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot be waived.
You will defend and indemnify Authorythm against claims, losses and costs arising from Your Input, your published works, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. We treat Your Input and Output as your confidential information and disclose it only to provide the Service, with your consent, or as the law requires.
Our staff may access your projects to provide support you have requested, to investigate abuse, or to diagnose faults. Such access is logged.
These Terms apply while you have an account.
You may delete your account at any time from account settings. Deleting your account cancels any subscription immediately and permanently deletes your account, your projects and manuscripts, and any remaining words. Nothing is refunded. Export your manuscripts before you delete your account; the app asks you to confirm before it deletes anything. Deleting your account is different from cancelling a plan: to stop a plan but keep your account and your work, cancel it from your billing page (section 5.8).
We may suspend or terminate your access for breach (section 6), for non-payment, where required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; if we discontinue the Service other than for your breach we give at least 30 days' notice and a reasonable period to export your work.
Sections 5.11, 7, 10, 11, 13 and any other provisions that by their nature should survive continue after termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer law of your country of residence gives you greater protection.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of written notice to legal@authorythm.ai will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules if you are a consumer, or its Commercial Arbitration Rules otherwise, held in Delaware or by video conference. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You and Authorythm each waive any right to a jury trial. Claims are brought individually; no class or representative proceedings. If that restriction is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must proceed in court and not in arbitration. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property or unauthorized access. Changes we make to this section 13 do not apply to a dispute either party has already notified. Consumers in the EU or UK may instead bring claims in their local courts.
These Terms, with the documents in section 1.3, are the entire agreement. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may assign these Terms to a successor of the business; you may not assign them. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. Notices to you go to your account email; notices to us go to legal@authorythm.ai.
Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of third-party providers listed in section 8.
Electronic communications. You agree that we may give you notices, receipts and agreements electronically, and that these satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
Order of documents. Where these Terms and another document in section 1.3 conflict, these Terms govern.
